While many people will provide help during your pregnancy and postpartum journey, it’s important to remember that only certain individuals have received specific training in lactation and lactation counseling. It is always recommended to reach out to a certified lactation healthcare worker (CLC or IBCLC) when looking for help with breastfeeding and other associated topics. Lactation professionals can also help with referrals to other specialists such as bodyworkers, pediatric dentists, speech and language pathologists (SLP), plus many more.

Pumping IS breastfeeding and a wonderful way to provide the benefits of breastmilk to your child. While many moms will choose to nurse, others may need to or choose to pump and bottle feed their child.  Moving mama is committed to supporting you in whatever way you choose to feed your child and cannot wait to help empower and support you during your journey!

YES! It’s an unfortunate misconception that lactation providers only work with nursing families. Bottle fed babies (breastmilk or formula) can also benefit from lactation support through appropriate bottle selection, proper bottle feeding techniques and transitioning from bottle feeding to cup feeding.
